Western Burgers earned a cherished place in Wichita Falls Independent School District history in the 1970s when food service worker Emaline Anderson created and served them to rave reviews in WFISD school cafeterias.

The hot, steamy white rolls stuffed with cheesy seasoned hamburger meat – the ultimate comfort food — are still available for purchase from WFISD’s food service department once a year in February.
